Maczki Municipal Club
The club operated from 1947 to the half of the 70s of the last century as a institution of the state-owned Water Supply Company. It was taken over by the local authorities in 1990, together with its branch in Klimontów, established in 1997.
As the only cultural institution in the district, the club performs an important culture-forming function. Since the beginning of its activity the club has been focusing on working with children and teenagers. Various special-interest groups, musical instrument classes, art workshops and sports sections are organized within the club. The members of sport groups are offered a possibility to develop their skills in tennis, basketball and volleyball. "Boulles" game is also becoming increasingly popular. During the summer and autumn seasons the sports classes are conducted on the club’s recreational and sport ground. During the school holiday the institution organizes many attractive classes and trips. The most significant forms of culture promotion, which bring together the local community are: art, photographic and declamation contents, celebration of national holidays as well as occasional events.
The history and location of the “Maczki” Club create favorable conditions for presenting the roots and traditions of this region. Maczki as well as the neighbouring Klimontów district have a several-hundred-year-long tradition. It was the meeting point of the borders of the three superpowers. In the future the city is going to use to a greater extent the advantages of Maczki historical location, by establishing cooperation with the countries of the Three Emperor Triangle region.
