Palace of the Mieroszewski Family and the Park

This early classicistic style palace was built in the fourth decade of the 19th century around 1790. It was allegedly designed by the famous architect Franciszek Maria Lanci. The palace in Zagórze was built on the initiative of the count Józef Mieroszewski, who was a chamberlain of the King Stanislaus Augustus. The palace was owned by the Mieroszewski Family.

The palace, together with the surrounding park and the farm buildings, forms a palace complex. The front elevation points to the north, whereas the garden one to the south. The two-bay residence is built of brick, on a rectangle plan and decorated from the south with central breaks.

In 1863 the palace was an active centre of preparations for the January Uprising. In the 70s of the 20th century the building was reconstructed and has been a seat of the Historical Monuments Restoration Workshop ever since.

In the 60s the park was built up with hospital facilities and lost thus its original character.
